The speaker: Professor Tobias Barker (University of Bath, UK)
Title of the talk: “Failure of Liouville type theorems and potential 'type I' singularities of the Navier-Stokes equations”.
Time: Thursday, 5 of May, 16:00 - 17:00.
Abstract. It is known that if a solution of the 3D Navier-Stokes equations loses smoothness, then there necessarily exists a non-zero bounded solution defined on the whole backward time interval.
In this talk, I will focus on the reverse implication. Joint work with Dallas Albritton (IAS).

This seminar is organized by Fudan University (Shanghai, China) with the collaboration of Universita degli studi della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" (Caserta, Italy) and Vilnius University (Vilnius, Lithuania). This seminar is meant to gather renowned experts working on Geometric and Real Analysis with applications to PDEs and Mathematical Physics and represents an opportunity for presenting high-impact research, as well as facilitating the exchange of ideas between researchers.
