Abuzer Yakaryilmaz from the University of Latvia says: "In this seminar we provide an accessible overview of the fundamentals of quantum computing, introducing key concepts and recent developments in the field. We briefly discuss the state of available quantum hardware, highlighting the main technological platforms and their capabilities.

Cybersecurity is becoming one of the most relevant topics in the contemporary world as the demand for professionals capable of protecting the digital space from ever more complex threats grows. On February 8, the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Vilnius University hosted the annual MIF Student Mathematics Olympiad. Participants had four hours to solve four challenging problems. The competition was won by Yunus Emre Tuzcu, a master’s student in Mathematics, who scored 33 out of 40 points. Originally from Turkey, Yunus came to Vilnius University as an Erasmus student in 2021-2022. Lithuania's nature and culture impressed him so much that he returned for full-time studies.
