The DeepTech Entrepreneurship programme is a unique MSc programme that blends academic knowledge, a start-up accelerator and real-life experience, to prepare students to become the next generation of successful technology entrepreneurs.

Future oriented organizations are looking for employees with entrepreneurial mindsets. This programme aims to educate LEADERS at the intersection of science and business, with a deep understanding of technology, data science, innovation management, and entrepreneurship.

VU Business School seeks not only to give students the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed but also to EMPOWER the future professionals to integrate them into the start-ups ecosystem in order to grow transformative organizations that will advance to bridge THE WORLDS of technology and management.

MSc DeepTech Entrepreneurship programme is designed and implemented together with the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Faculty of Physics and the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN).

Why this programme?

  • The programme includes a study visit to CERN* (Geneva, Switzerland), allowing the students to assess the possibilities of developing a new product or service for their designed start-up.
  • There’s options for students to pursue a research thesis or to engage in their established start-ups, which are mentored by our professors

*Study visit to CERN is mandatory only for students who will be creating their start-ups. Study visit adds additional costs for traveling and accommodation.

The DeepTech Entrepreneurship programme combines theoretical and empirical perspectives with practical skills and opportunities, allowing students to apply the knowledge they gain in real life, by establishing and managing innovation-driven companies.

By the end of the programme, students will have a solid knowledge and understanding of:

  • Entrepreneurship and its applications
  • Innovations and the issues related to developing them in business scenarios
  • How to design strategies for new opportunities
  • How to develop an innovation-driven company

By the end of the programme, students will be able to:

  • Integrate knowledge from different fields in actions
  • Solve complex problems in undefined situations
  • Integrate deep tech opportunities
  • Forecast and initiate change
  • Develop innovative products
  • Communicate effectively
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Work effectively in diverse environments
  • At least 20 ECTS credits in business and public management study field group or economics study field course units earned in bachelor studies or an equivalent practical experience of no less than one year gained that the candidate is able to substantiate.
  • The candidates’ motivation and readiness for studies shall be evaluated based on their answers to questions submitted in a video format.
  • Candidates may be invited to a motivational interview.
  • Candidates shall possess a cumulative grade point average of no less than 60 per cent to be admitted.

In addition, all applicants have to fulfil general admission requirements.
