Assoc. Prof. Linas Petkevičius has assumed the role of Director of the Institute of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Vilnius University (VU MIF), following elections held on 29 January 2026.
Registration for the Smart Internship for Vilnius University (VU) students is open until 22 Feburary . During the internship, students who work on tasks set by businesses and public institutions have the opportunity to become better acquainted with organisations, establish professional contacts and gain knowledge valuable for their studies and future careers.
A few weeks ago in Graz, Austria, Vilnius University (VU) graduate Aušridas Bakšanskas was awarded his Master’s degree. Reflecting on his two years in the European Studies programme, he says the experience allowed him to discover Europe up close – not only through academic discussions with international students and teaching staff but also beyond the classroom, by travelling and exploring new places. Having studied at four European universities, the VU alumnus notes that the programme fosters critical thinking, encourages openness, and provides a broad and diverse knowledge base.
The Master’s Programme in international Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence is a full-time master’s programme jointly developed and taught in English. The programme offers specialised academic education in Cybersecurity, Cyberintelligence and International Relations and Law for Cybersecurity. It corresponds to a regular study period of four semesters or two years, jointly carried out by four European Universities: Granada (Spain), Minho (Portugal), Padua (Italy) and Vilnius (Lithuania), through the use of physical mobility around these four universities, and students attending virtual, blended and local courses.
