On July 4th at 10:00 a.m. an exceptional meeting of intellectuals, various experts and decision-makers will take place in the Aula Parva of Vilnius University (VU). The international conference "European Response. The War in Ukraine and New Challenges" is conceived as an intellectual preamble to this year’s NATO summit, also held in Vilnius.
Vilnius University (VU) offers free studies and financial assistance to the most talented Ukrainian students for the second time. Three years ago, VU established The Grand Duchy of Lithuania Scholarship specifically for Ukrainian students who enroll at VU, aimed at covering their living expenses during the first year of studies.
Lithuania's Vilnius University intends to join the IBM Quantum Innovation Center at PSNC, as the institutions declare plans for cooperation in the field of quantum technologies, identifying new areas of R&D work and mutual development of competences in this area. The Letter of Intent starting the cooperation has been signed on May 10, during the Impact'23 in Poznan.

The Board of Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (MIF) has elected Prof. Dr. Paulius Drungilas as the new Dean of MIF for the second term.
On 10 March, the Board of VU MIF voted for a new Dean of the MIF. The majority of votes favoured the current Dean of the Faculty. The new term of office will continue for five years.
According to Dr Šarūnas Repšys, chairman of the Election Commission, the election was conducted without irregularities. The candidate has received strong support from the MIF Board. More than half of the members of the Faculty Board voted for him: fifteen out of the sixteen voters present voted for him.
