Lithuania's Vilnius University intends to join the IBM Quantum Innovation Center at PSNC, as the institutions declare plans for cooperation in the field of quantum technologies, identifying new areas of R&D work and mutual development of competences in this area. The Letter of Intent starting the cooperation has been signed on May 10, during the Impact'23 in Poznan.

“I liked the fact that there was an opportunity to combine work and study by creating your schedule”, says Volodymyr Kadzhaia who chose Master's studies at Vilnius University (VU). According to V. Kadzhaia, knowledge of Vilnius has a big influence on his choice of university. Lithuania is among the leading countries that have developed the most technologically advanced public e-services.

Participate in the scientific conference "Lithuanian MSc Research in Informatics and ICT", which will take place on May 9, 2023, at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (Gedimino pr. 3, Vilnius). The conference is open to the presentation of a wide range of research and applications in the field of informatics and IT.

The Board of Vilnius University (VU) Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (MIF) has elected Prof. Dr. Paulius Drungilas as the new Dean of MIF for the second term.

On 10 March, the Board of VU MIF voted for a new Dean of the MIF. The majority of votes favoured the current Dean of the Faculty. The new term of office will continue for five years.

According to Dr Šarūnas Repšys, chairman of the Election Commission, the election was conducted without irregularities. The candidate has received strong support from the MIF Board. More than half of the members of the Faculty Board voted for him: fifteen out of the sixteen voters present voted for him.

On 23-25 February, for the third year in a row, Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty is organising VU CYBERTHON 2023, an online international cyber security competition for high school and university students, as well as cybersecurity experts. The scope of the event has been increasing each year, with the VU Institute of International Relations and Political Science joining the team in 2023 as well.
