Important information for students

Dear students,

Probably you already received the news that regarding the Coronavirus prevention starting from 13 of March university will work REMOTELY (lectures, exercises, laboratory works, etc.). The contact study process is suspended until the midnight of 13 April with a possibility to extend this deadline as well if needed. Typically, learning and communication with the teacher will continue in a Virtual learning environment. Otherwise, professors will email you separately about the distance learning requirements, methods, and communication tools for the classes. If you do not receive such information, you should first contact the teacher.

We will seek to assist teachers in providing study materials and feedback during class sessions as scheduled. We expect understanding and flexibility from all sides to maintain the quality of our studies.

Thank you for support and cooperation. Stay healthy and mindful.

FinTech and RegTech: trends, issues and challenges

Date: 18 March, 8.30 a.m.
Location: VU Library Scientific Communication and Information Center, Conference room, Sauletekio ave. 5, Vilnius

The so-called exponential technologies such as the IoT, cloud, artificial intelligence or blockchain are changing the way how data is collected and processed, how business processes and transactions are executed, and how new services are developed and can be monitored or regulated by responsible institutions.

While industry players are already applying new knowledge to develop financial innovations, to improve customer experience, and to reduce costs, the dual novelty on the process and the tech side implies high uncertainties and risks with regard to management function and the capability of the regulatory function to be effective without compromising legal and ethical norms.
At this conference we will bring forth views, opinions, and arguments from the industry and academia to discuss the trends and challenges of the financial technologies (FinTech) and their compliance- and regulation-oriented programmes (RegTech).

The conference is intended for lecturers, students, enthusiasts, industry and government reps – all those who can benefit from open, motivated, interdisciplinary discussion on the topic.

Seminar ,,Spectral analysis of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of second order non-local boundary-value problems“

2020 02 18 Kalkuliatorius1920x633

Date: 24 February, 5 p.m.
Location: 102 (J. Kubiliaus) aud., Naugarduko st. 24

Speaker: Erdoğan Şen (Tekirdag Namik Kemal university, Turkey)

Abstract:

In this talk, after an introduction about our previous works on spectral analysis of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of second order boundary value problems (BVPs) with/without retarded argument we present our results obtained during our joint research with prof. Artūras Štikonas. We investigate the existence of solutions and find asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of second order non-local BVPs.

All are welcome to attend.
