General information for Erasmus incoming students

To participate in Erasmus student mobility, you should first contact the international office of the institution where you study at home. The office will be able to tell you about possible host institutions, the selection procedure and financial support.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics has concluded exchange agreements within the Erasmus+ Programme with more than 100 universities from nearly all of Europe. Some 90-100 incoming Erasmus students spend one or two semesters at our Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics annually.

More information for incoming students is available at the website of Vilnius university. Offered courses in English can be found here.

Please consider that some courses available may be modified or cancelled during the first two weeks of the semester.

We are looking forward to welcoming you and hope your stay in Vilnius will be a pleasant and rewarding one!

English classes at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics are held together with the local students, therefore the Academic Calendar for exchange students is the same as for local students.

All the courses available are posted in the Studies timetable, where you can find the updated information about the date and time of the courses. If the courses overlap, you should consider taking another course.

Exchange students are allowed to attend all available courses in the first two weeks of the semester and choose the courses that are the most attractive for you by submitting the registration form to International Office (Universiteto st. 3, room 242). Registration form must be signed by the student and each teacher of the selected course. Before making any changes to your learning agreement please contact the international coordinator of your home university. We strongly recommend choosing the courses that suit your level of studies (Bachelor or Master). Exchange students may choose courses from other Faculties of Vilnius university as well.

The list of courses is taught in English.

Regarding other issues of living in a foreign country, our university has a great mentorship programme.

The mentor is VU student, who has more experience and competence, is able to inspire, encourage and provide with versatile required assistance. The aim of the mentorship program is to provide insights into, and understanding of the life, culture and learning environment in Lithuania and Vilnius. Mentors are a source of support and information on all aspects. They introduce incoming students to the social and academic life of the university and daily life concerns (opening a bank account, organizing a mobile phone, etc.).

Every student is assigned to one mentor, who will contact you at least 2 weeks before your arrival.
