International Conference on Probability Theory and Number Theory 2026

This year’s International Conference on Probability Theory and Number Theory is dedicated to commemorating two significant anniversaries – the 75th birthday of Professor R. Rudzkis and the 70th anniversary of the former Institute of Physics and Mathematics.

Conferences of this kind have been held in Palanga for many years. On 10–16 September 2023, the third International Conference on Probability Theory and Number Theory (ICPTNT 2023) took place there. The first two conferences of this format were held in 2021 and 2022. They continued the tradition of international conferences in Palanga that began in 1991, when meetings were organized on various occasions to address problems in analytic and probabilistic number theory and combinatorics. However, the first two ICPTNT conferences were held in Lithuanian and were primarily intended for a Lithuanian audience.

This year, the conference will take place on 13–19 September at Hotel Gabija in Palanga, Lithuania. It is expected to bring together participants from a range of countries, including Greece, Japan, Austria, Sweden, Ukraine, Czechia, Kosovo and France. This reflects the growing international profile of the event and its importance to mathematical research in Lithuania.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to meet leading experts in the field, establish professional connections, develop new opportunities for collaboration, and learn interesting historical facts related to the anniversaries being commemorated. The aim of the event is to provide a platform for sharing the latest knowledge and advances in probability theory, number theory, and other areas of mathematics. The conference is important both for specialists in these fields and for members of the wider academic community.

The event is organized under the auspices of the Lithuanian Mathematical Society, units of Vilnius University, and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
