Why this programme?

Are you curious, not afraid of challenges, and want to contribute to research from the first year of your studies? Bioinformatics is not only about using computer science to analyse biological processes but is also widely used in other fields, such as artificial intelligence and big data analysis. It is the basis of biotechnology, used to develop drugs and vaccines and model genetic treatments. Motivated students have the opportunity to pursue a research career both in Lithuania and abroad.

What‘s after?

The graduates will be able to work in enterprises, research laboratories and centres, where analysis of the data of biological origin is required, and will be able to use, modify and create bioinformatics software. Having the basic knowledge and skills in Computer Science they also will be able to work in different IT enterprises and organisations developing complex software products.

  • Applicants from EU/EFTA countries are required to submit academic transcripts demonstrating an overall grade average of 7.5 out of 10 in Mathematics and English. If your first language is English and/or if you have a university degree in English, you will be exempt from providing an English language test score.
  • Applicants from non-EU/EFTA countries must submit academic transcripts showing their grades in Mathematics and English. Proficiency in English may be demonstrated through TOEFL or IELTS certificates. Each applicant will be assessed individually and remotely.
For Applicants from non-EU/EFTA the gap since your completed secondary degree should not exceed five years.

Additional country-specific requirements are set only for the following countries which you can find HERE.
