The call for applications for ERASMUS+ exchange studies is open twice a year:

  • in February - for the autumn semester or next academic year;
  • in September - for the spring semester.

The call to apply and exact dates are published on the news feed (http://mif.vu.lt/lt3/en/life-at-mif/news/faculty-news) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics and in the news feed of International Relations Department (IRO) of Vilnius University.

In ERASMUS+ exchange programme are eligible to participate students who/s:

  • Do not have academic debts;
  • Have not less than 7 average of the last two semesters;
  • Until the start of exchange period have successfully concluded two semesters Bachelor‘s degree, or one semester of Master‘s degree;
  • Exchange studies period abroad will not be during the last semester at MIF;
  • In current study programma did not use the limit of 12 months for Erasmus+ exchange mobility for studies and/or internship.

On exceptional cases, second year Bachelor degree students are allowed to participate in Erasmus+ mobility. In such cases the average of the last two semesters must be highter than 9 and a student must show a strong motivation.

Selection of partner universities

Students wishing to participate in the selection for ERASMUS+ must choose receiving foreign universities. The list of partner universities can be found on this link. It is possible to choose up to two (2) foreign institutions for exchange studies.

Important! Before choosing receiving foreign university, please pay attention to the following:

  • are the courses at the receiving university  being taught in a foreign language which student can follow, like French, Italian, German etc.
  • Experience of previously on exchange participated students‘
  • Student‘s choice must be discussed and approved by the Head of the Study Programme Committee (check the list)

ERASMUS + application submission

ERASMUS+ applications are submitted via VU informational system.

Selection and publication of the results

Upon completion of electronic registration, the Faculty‘s selection committee evaluates student applications. The following criteria are assessed:

  • student‘s motivation (40%);
  • average of two last sessions results (50%);
  • English language knowledge (10%).

In case of questions or doubts, the Faculty‘s selection committee may also conduct selection interviews.

The results of the selection are published no later than two weeks by  e-mail and / or on the selection website

After the successful ERASMUS+ selection

After the successful selection for ERASMUS+ studies, the application process at the foreign university and the signing of the contract begin.

STEP 1: Carefully read the requirements of the foreign university for the application and prepare documents (copy of passport, English language certificate, Transcript of records, etc.).

STEP 2: Find the subjects for the exchange semester on the website of the receiving/ host foreign institution and discuss your choice with the Head of the Study Program Committee (see according to the study program

STEP 3: send the approval of the Head of the Study Program Committee on the ERASMUS + study plan by e-mail to erasmus@mif.vu.lt

STEP 4: Complete the Learning Agreement (LA). It is recommended to fill in the electronic version if the foreign university of your choice has this option.

  • Another option is scanned pdf copy of Learning agreement. Only first page is required to complete the Learning Agreement in doc format. E-mail a scanned complete pdf file of your Learning Agreement to erasmus@mif.vu.lt

STEP 5: Send the signed Learning Agreement to a foreign university and forward it fully signed version or Letter of Acceptance to erasmus@mif.vu.lt

STEP 6: Fill in the online application -  Request for the study period abroad.

STEP 7: Once the Dean's order statement for the ERASMUS +  exchange has appeared in your E-Student account (Studies-> Study Records), you can proceed to sign the financial agreement for the mobility scholarship.

STEP 8: Complete a language test on this link.

In addition, you should take care of your own accommodation, travel tickets, insurance, etc. We recommend contacting students who have already gone on an Erasmus+ exchange and agreed to share their experiences.

In case of any reasons (for example, the course has been canceled, courses overlap, not enough students in the group etc.) student must make changes in Learning Agreement:

  • All changes must be discussed and approved by the Head of Study Programme Committee (check the list)
  • Fill „During the mobility“ part in your Learning Agreement
  • After the changes being done, sign your LA and send it the coordinator of receiving university to sign.

Send updated LA with signatures to erasmus@mif.vu.lt The document must be whole, with all pages where original study plan and changes/updates are visible.

In order to recognize the subjects which you have attended in receiving university abroad during exchange period, it is necessary to:

  • Take the second foreign language test https://erasmusplusols.eu/en/
  • Complete EU Electronic Survey (you will receive it by e-mail, check spam);
  • Obtain confirmation of the ERASMUS + study period (Confirmation of Erasmus study period). Ask the coordinator of the receiving foreign institution for approval. The received document must be submitted to the VU International Relations Department;
  • Obtain your Transcript of Records (ToR). Contact the coordinator of the receiving foreign institution.
  • Via your eStudent account on eApplications fill the request named “REQUEST FOR RECOGNITION OF SUBJECTS (MODULES) / COMPETENCES“ and attach your ToR (Trascript of Records) there.
