COVID-19: Information for Students and Employees

In view of the threat of the spread of COVID-19 infection, the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania to declare quarantine and to protect the health of our community members, the coronavirus prevention team decided that all activities at the university by 31 May should be continued remotely.

Exam re-take session

Exam re-take session according to the Acedemic calendar will take place:

February 4–18 – 2021 exam re-take session of subjects (modules) for the autumn semester of the 2020–2021 academic year to all students.

February 5 and 12 – 2021 exam re-take session of GUS courses for the autumn semester of the 2020–2021 academic year.

Information about exam re-take session according to the lecturer's name or groups is published in the faculty timetable system https://tvarkarasciai.vu.lt/mif/

Important information for graduates

Dear graduates,

a graduation event will take place remotely on the 3rd of February at 10 a. m. We invite graduates to contribute to the joy of creating a festive mood and submit your photo to show during a virtual event until the 31st of January: upload a photo.

graduation event will take place remotely and we will not be able to provide diplomas at that time. Therefore, we offer several options for collecting your diploma and kindly invite you to choose the most suitable for you: collecting the diploma.

SETTLEMENT WITH VILNIUS UNIVERSITY

After successful completion of studies and in order to obtain a diploma and diploma supplement confirming the studies, it is necessary to settle with the University.

The procedures for settlement with the University are defined in this document.

University units with which University graduates and discontinuing students must settle:

  • University Library (return books, etc.);
  • University Dormitory Centre (to account for accommodation in VU dormitory);
  • Vilnius University Students` Representation (there is no need to return a Lithuanian Student Identity Card (LSIC), a card will be invalid upon graduation of studies). This settlement takes place automatically – no additional action is required;
  • International Relations Office at the Central Administration (according to this document, in order to settle with IRO, students must indicate their name, surname, student card number (LSIC) and faculty. Contact by e-mail or ;
  • Student Services and Career Department (if you went on an Erasmus internship and you haven’t settled yet);
  • Faculty administration (to fulfill financial and academic obligations if you haven't settled yet) This settlement takes place automatically – no additional action is required.

Graduates must settle with the University units no later than 5 days before the scheduled date of delivery of their diplomas.                                                                                    

A diploma cannot be issued to those who have not settled with the University departments.

International Battle of the Brains 2020

If you have what it takes to know-it-all or just want to have a good time with your friends competing in a friendly VU Mathematics and Informatics Faculty's first International Battle of the Brains 2020, we got your back!

WHEN? Save the date and some snacks on 3rd of December, starting at 18:00 (6 pm).
WHERE? Online platform (you will receive a link to join).
WHO? Build a team of max 5 members, register and join the event online. If you do not have a team, do not worry. We will match you up with other players.
HOW? The event will be held in English language remotely.
WHAT? Three best score winning teams will be awarded with MIF souvenirs and eternal glory :)

congratulations on International Students‘ Day! You, young and talented, are the engine of our community and help to conquer even the most difficult peaks. This year, on Student Day, we meet in special conditions... the corridors of the faculty are empty and spiritless ... but we believe that the festive mood and optimism are always in your hearts!

We try to make every student of the faculty feel happy and satisfied and we announce a little competition:

On the 3rd of December 10 authors of the best ideas will be announced at the event „International Quiz“ (remotely) and will be awarded with special MIF souvenirs.
