The Lithuanian partner institutions (Vilnius University, Vilnius Technical University and the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics) introduced Master and Doctoral level studies in informatics. This was done several years ago. The main aim of the project is to introduce new courses in the fields of Artificial Intelligence - Knowledge Engineering - Software Engineering - Information Systems, seeking to integrate these new courses with the current curricula.
Special attention will be given to updating the curricula of partner institutions in Vilnius in order to both suit the needs of the Lithuanian labour market and to obtain international academic recognition.
The project meets the requirements of "Lithuania-2000", the national strategic programme on information infrastructure development. A sufficient number of information systems professionals are essential to the process of developing the information infrastructure.
In order to achieve the objectives, the activities are planned.
