The first seminar about the history of didactics of mathematics in three Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania took place at Liepaja Pedagogical Institute in 1984. Later on the name “seminar” has been changed to “conference” and themes of conferences shifted from the history of didactics of mathematics to the didactics of mathematics itself. The profound history of these conferences will be published in the article of A.Ažubalis and E.Gingulis “The History of Fifteen Scientific Seminars and Conferences on Issues of Mathematical Didactics and its Development in the Baltic Countries” in the 2004 Liepaja conference proceedings.

Vilnius Conference is already the sixth conference devoted to Teaching mathematics and will take place on 13 - 14 of May 2005 in Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Vilnius University. The address of Faculty: Naugarduko 24, Vilnius (for map look here), Lithuania.
