Institute of Data Science and Digital Technologies (DSDT) of Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (MIF) at Vilnius University (VU) is preparing to strengthen research activities in the field of Informatics Engineering by launching research in the field of open-source software.
It is expected that planned research will contribute to the study of the development characteristics of open-source software, all open-source system‘s (OSS) strength enlargement, development of open-source innovation and reduction of rist of using open-source.
The research topic is closely related to the research already carried out at the Insittute in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and blockchain technology, therefore it is planned to become a planned one. This will enrich the experience of junior researchers and allow the creation of a group that will carry out high-level research in a targeted manner, and this will undoubtedly increase the competitiveness of the Institute and the Faculty in the Lithuanian scientific knowledge market.
