VU student V. Kadzhaia is from Ukraine, Kyiv. He was graduated from one of the leading universities in Ukraine – Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Software Engineering. V. Kadzhaia chose to study at Computer Science programme at VU Mathematics and informatics faculty.

Why did you choose to study this programme?

I chose this program because I am interested in the field of Informatics (Computer Science) and in the future, I am going to apply deeper knowledge in my work.

What made you choose a Master's degree at Vilnius University?

Vilnius University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. I also know that the IT industry is rapidly developing in Vilnius.

How did you know about studies?

I have been choosing European universities for a long time. Based on reviews on the Internet, I chose Vilnius University and the program.

What have you enjoyed most about studying at Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (MIF)?

I like the fact that there is an opportunity for individual work and a schedule. I also like that my master's studies start at 4 pm, which makes it possible to work in parallel and gain experience.

What is your opinion about the teachers/supervisors at MIF?

A high level of teaching, the willingness of teachers to answer questions of interest on the topic, as well as a scientific focus.

Did you combine work with studies? How did you manage to balance it?

Yes, I was working in Vilnius. Thanks to the schedule of classes at the university, I was able to create a flexible workflow schedule.

Would you recommend masters studies to others? Why?

Yes, I will. I like living, studying, and working in Vilnius. For 5 months I learned a lot in my specialty, which I will use in the future. All subjects offered by the university are very relevant. Teachers tell new methods and technologies used in a particular area of IT. And also there is an opportunity to combine work and study by creating your own individual schedule.
