BAIP

In 2008 BAIP and Vilnius University signed the collaboration agreement with the aim to actively promote the collaboration between science and business. This would be achieved by creating and implementing joint solutions beneficial for both society and state’s economy. The result of this is Digital Science and Computing centre (DiSCC) run by Vilnius University and supported by BAIP acting under the consortium agreement with VU.

BAIP delivers critical  IT infrastructure, cloud and supercomputing services, it also specialises in large scale system design, implementation and maintenance. Company expertise includes design and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems, high performance interconnect networks and large scale parallel and distributed storage systems. BAIP assists its customers in design and development of cloud and HPC based business services platforms which can be integrated into cloud infrastructure.

Company also provides critical IT infrastructure services, assisting clients in consolidation, virtualization, security and management of their IT environment by means of BAIP proprietary methodology CIMF (Critical Infrastructure Maintenance Framework). The main specialization areas are IT infrastructure design, virtual environments, IT services management, storage, backup and recovery, security and cloud computing.

In 2009, BAIP received the award of “Knowledge Economy Company 2009” and was nominated as the most progressive service sector company in Lithuania.

Company acts and implements international IT projects in many different countries, such as the Baltic States, the Balkan Peninsula, Liberia, Belarus, Georgia, Dubai and others.

Social Initiatives

• Modernization of industrial companies by means of super grids
We actively supported Lithuania during its participation in competition to establish central Europe headquarters for EGI (European Grid Initiative) in Lithuania (it would be advantageous both for an academic society, and the country, which would get economic benefit).

• Lithuanian cybernetic security initiative
Since 2008 by invitation of Ministry of National Defence of the Republic of Lithuania we have participated in activity of interdepartmental work group and provided proposals and recommendations for creation of national cybernetic security policy. Ideas generated together with experienced professionals during the Idea Workshop were provided to the Government of the Republic of Lithuania with MND interdepartmental work group report as means necessary for state security.
